CALL TO ORDER: Chairperson Craig Smith at 3809 Legoe Bay Road, Lummi Island, WA. 98262 called the Regular Meeting for April 10, 2007 to order, at 7:00 p.m.

 

PRESENT:  In attendance were Commissioner Craig Smith, Commissioner Robert Busch, Commissioner Pete Cameron, and Fire Chief Duncan McLane, Board Secretary Barbara Wallace.

 

GUEST:       No Guests.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT:   None.

 

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:   

 

Motion:      Commissioner Busch made motion, “To approve the March 13, 2007 Minutes as submitted.”  Seconded by Commissioner Cameron, AND PASSED 3-0.

 

 

PAYROLL:

 

Commissioner Cameron questioned why the Board Secretary’s wages were not increased to the rate of the others on payroll when the Board had set a flat rate for all payroll personnel.

 

Motion:      Commissioner Cameron made motion, “To increase the Board Secretary’s wage to the same as the rest.”  Seconded by Commissioner Busch, AND PASSED 3-0.

 

Motion:      Commissioner Busch made motion, “To approve the payroll for April 2007 (March 2007 hours).”  Seconded by Commissioner Cameron, AND PASSED 3-0.

 

BLANKET VOUCHERS:

 

The Board of Commissioners, at 3809 Legoe Bay Road, Lummi Island, Wa. 98262, reviewed the regular Blanket vouchers approval documents for April 2007 expenses for approval of payments, on April 10, 2007 and approved.  “Vouchers audited and certified by RCW 42.24.080, and those expenses, reimbursement claims certified as required by RCW 42.24.090, have been made available to the Board.”

 

Motion:      Commissioner Cameron made motion, “To approve the vouchers for April 2007, and approve for payment those vouchers included in the list in amounts of $85,854.95.” Motion seconded by Commissioner Busch, AND PASSED 3-0.

 

FINANCIAL/SECRETARY REPORTS:  No Reports.

 

An Authorization to Void/Cancel a warrant # 690573 dated July 25, 2006 was presented to the Board for approval.

 

Motion:      Commissioner Cameron made motion, “To approve and sign the Authorization to Void/Cancel a warrant # 690573 dated July 25, 2006 for United Auto Electric.” Motion seconded by Commissioner Busch, AND PASSED 3-0.

 

Secretary Barbara Wallace informed the Board that the State Audit Report was completed and that it was going to be mailed out on Thursday, April 12, 2007.

 

COMMUNICATIONS:  A flyer for the Senior Public Officials Workshop sponsored by Emergency Management Division.

 

CHIEF’S REPORT:  Attached.

 

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:  None.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Chief McLane informed the Board that he was working on contracts for Fire Protection on County property.

 

In the District SOG’s under Section 1, Article 4, the Board has requested that this item be placed into suspension until a revised wording can be completed to replace the existing one.

 

Commissioner Busch made motion, “To place Section 1, Article 4 into suspension until a revised wording can be completed, along with suspending the same wording in the Chief Job Description.” Motion seconded by Commissioner Cameron, AND PASSED 3-0.

 

The paperwork for running for election of Commissioner has been filled out and passed on to Commissioner Busch to complete for filing.

 

 

 

 

SIGNING OF THE DOCUMENTS:

 

Motion:      There being no other business to come before the Board of Commissioners, Commissioner Cameron moved and Commissioner Busch seconded, to adjourn the meeting, AND PASSED 3-0.

 

 

The meeting was adjourned at 8:43 p.m.
