CALL TO ORDER: Commissioner Wendell Terry at 3809 Legoe Bay Road, Lummi Island, WA. 98262 called the Regular Meeting for January 8, 2007 to order, at 7:00 p.m.

PRESENT: In attendance were Commissioner Robert Busch, Commissioner Pete Cameron, Commissioner Wendell Terry, Fire Chief Duncan McLane, and Board Secretary Tammi Lynch.

GUEST: None.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes for the Public Hearing on December 18, 2007 were approved as submitted by Commissioner Wendell Terry.

Minutes for the Regular Board of Commissioners Meeting on December 18, 2007 were approved as submitted by Commissioner Wendell Terry.

PAYROLL:

Motion: Commissioner Cameron made motion, “To approve the payroll for January 2008 (December 2007 hours).” Seconded by Commissioner Busch, AND PASSED 3-0.

BLANKET VOUCHERS:

The Board of Commissioners, at 3809 Legoe Bay Road, Lummi Island, Wa. 98262, reviewed the regular Blanket vouchers approval documents for October 2007 expenses for approval of payments, on January 8, 2008 and approved. “Vouchers audited and certified by RCW 42.24.080, and those expenses, reimbursement claims certified as required by RCW 42.24.090, have been made available to the Board.”

Motion: Commissioner Cameron made motion, “To approve the vouchers for Year End 2007, and approve for payment those vouchers included in the list in the amount of $1,120.26.” Motion seconded by Commissioner Busch, AND PASSED 3-0.

Motion: Commissioner Cameron made motion, “To approve the vouchers for January 2008, and approve for payment those vouchers included in the list in the amount of $5,762.02.” Motion seconded by Commissioner Busch, AND PASSED 3-0.

FINANCIAL/SECRETARY REPORTS: Financial Reports were not available for this meeting.

COMMUNICATIONS: None.

CHIEF’S REPORT: Attached.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None.

NEW BUSINESS: SCBA Bottles and Cascade System: Whatcom County Fire District #16 has offered $150 for all of the in service SCBA Bottles and Cascade System that was surplused in last months meeting.

Motion: Commissioner Cameron made motion, “To accept $150 for the surplused SCBA Bottles and Cascade System from Whatcom County Fire District #16.” Motion seconded by Commissioner Busch, AND PASSED 3-0.

Donations: There was a discussion regarding what to do with donation checks written to the Fire District.

Motion: Commissioner Busch made motion, “To put all donations written out to the Fire District into the Facilities Fund.” Motion seconded by Commissioner Cameron, AND PASSED 3-0.

Hilltop Reservoir: Hilltop Water Association has a reservoir they will no longer be using once their construction is complete. Fire Chief McLane will get more information on whether the Fire District can use this reservoir in perpetuity. There will be a discussion next month.

Meeting Change: The Regular Meeting for the Board of Commissioners will be moved to 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday February 12, 2008.

Snure Seminar: Board Secretary Tammi Lynch asked the board for permission to attend a Saturday Seminar put on by the Washington State Fire Commissioners Association for new Commissioners or Appointed Agents on March 15. Permission was granted.

Motion: There being no other business to come before the Board of Commissioners, Commissioner Cameron moved and Commissioner Busch seconded, to adjourn the meeting, AND PASSED 3-0.
