CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Robert Busch at 3809 Legoe Bay Road, Lummi Island, WA. 98262 called the Regular Meeting for December 9, 2008 to order, at 7:07 p.m.

PRESENT: In attendance were Commissioner Robert Busch, Commissioner Wendell Terry, Fire Chief Duncan McLane, and Board Secretary Tammi Lynch. Commissioner Cameron was on Vacation.

GUEST: None.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None.

MINUTES:

Minutes for the November 11, 2008 Meeting were approved as submitted

PAYROLL:

Motion:Commissioner Busch made motion, “To approve the payroll for December 2008 (November 2008 hours).” Seconded by Commissioner Terry, AND PASSED 2-0.

BLANKET VOUCHERS:

The Board of Commissioners, at 3809 Legoe Bay Road, Lummi Island, Wa. 98262, reviewed the regular Blanket vouchers approval documents for December 2008 expenses for approval of payments, on December 9, 2008 and approved. “Vouchers audited and certified by RCW 42.24.080, and those expenses, reimbursement claims certified as required by RCW 42.24.090, have been made available to the Board.”

Motion:Commissioner Busch made motion, “To approve the vouchers for December 2008, and approve for payment those vouchers included in the list in the amount of $6075.57” Motion seconded by Commissioner Terry, AND PASSED 2-0.

FINANCIAL/SECRETARY REPORTS: Secretary Lynch gave the Financial Reports.

COMMUNICATIONS: None.

CHIEF’S REPORT: Attached.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Hilltop Reservoir: No Update.

NEW BUSINESS:

2009 Budget: Chief McLane presented the 2009 budget for approval.

Motion:Commissioner Terry made motion, “To approve the 2009 Budget as presented by Chief McLane.” Motion seconded by Commissioner Busch, AND PASSED 2-0.

RESOLUTIONS: Resolution 187 – Increase in Real Property Tax Levy; Resolution 188 – Increase in Emergency Medical Tax Levy.

Motion:Commissioner Busch made motion, “To approve Resolutions 187 and 188 to Increase the Real Property Tax Levy and the Emergency Medical Tax Levy.” Motion seconded by Commissioner Terry, AND PASSED 2-0.

SIGNING OF THE DOCUMENTS:

Motion:There being no other business to come before the Board of Commissioners, Commissioner Terry moved and Commissioner Busch seconded, to adjourn the meeting, AND PASSED 2-0.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:31 p.m.
